Nexus Resort Karambunai (5 star hotel)

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Some says it's heaven.Seeing is believing. So if you do not believe the statement, then you might as well consider to experience Nexus Karambunai Resorts yourself and share your views! The final night of my recent Kota Kinabalu trip, I had a chance of experiencing the breathtaking resort. I have lots of expectation on this resort as I heard a good rumors on how beautiful the resorts are from a friend of mine long time ago. It is indeed true!

The journey from the One borneo to Nexus takes about 15-30 minutes( depends on the traffic) and luckily got a cheaper deal of taxi fares from a very friendly taxi driver, only being charged about RM 40 per way. Room rate for villa-style deluxe: approximately about RM 400+.Late afternoon, we arrived at the beautiful resort and welcoming drinks welcomed us ;)

I didn't manage to explore the beach much due to my unfortunate foot conditions but we do had a unforgettable experience and a pleasant stay. Will definitely come back for sure,Insyallah.

A Romantic Evening

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

I was having a romantic evening dinner with 'mi novio' during our weekend date at one of the restaurants in Nexus Resorts Karambunai during my recent trip (early February) to Sabah,Malaysia. That was one of the best moments that we had. It was a great evening, indeed! added with a great music by a great trio, that came to our table and singing a soft romantic song from Eric Clapton 'Wonderful tonight' and Oh man! ,I find that was extremely romantic. ;) hehe and yes i picked the seat, opposite to the pool cause I thought it would give a beautiful background.Though the food was'nt that delicious, but everything seems to be perfect because it was awesome!
Probably will be having another date in April,Insyallah. hehe

Burj Khalifa

Did'nt get a chance to go inside and to go near the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. I only had a chance to take picture of the building while I was on the car on the highways.I checked from Burj Khalifa website, the fee to go there will cost up to AED 400. If you want to get a cheaper price of AED 100,you have to make a reservation from the website. I'd love to go inside and observed the tallest building in the world, maybe one day ;)

Ibn Batutta mall,a great mall!

Ibn Batutta mall is located just off on theSheikh Zayed road which heading towards Abu Dhabi and it is a bit far from the Dubai city centre. The Ibn Battuta Mall is a large shopping mall themed around the journeys of Ibn Battuta, the famous legendary exlplorer and traveller and the mall is centered with a special rich collection of information about Ibn Battuta. The mall is less crowded compare to other huge malls in Dubai such as Emirates mall.

When I first stepped in to the mall, I was fully amazed by the architecture and arts of the building inside. It looks like streets during the old time with a unique building and the man-made sky above the ceiling. was a breath-taking experience!

About Ibn Batutta:
Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Al Lawati Al Tanji Ibn Battuta
Arabic: أبو عبد الله محمد ابن عبد الله اللواتي الطنجي بن بطوطة‎ or simply Ibn Battuta (February 25, 1304 – 1368 or 1369) was a Moroccan Berber Muslim scholar and traveller who is known for the account of his travels and excursions called the Rihla (Voyage) in Arabic. His journeys lasted for a period of nearly thirty years and covered almost the entirety of the known Islamic world and beyond, extending from North Africa, West Africa, Southern Europe and Eastern Europe in the West, to the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and China in the East, a distance readily surpassing that of his predecessors and his near-contemporary Marco Polo. Greetings from United Arab Emirates (Dubai)

building opposite to our hotel

It was good to arrive in Dubai last night. Our flight arrived approximately around 4.29am Brunei time and around 1am, Dubai time. The weather is much more cooler now compare to Brunei. The long hours flight of 8 hours and 29 minutes from Brunei International Airport to Dubai International Airport via Royal Brunei Airlines wasn't that hectic but it wasn't fun neither.

My foot is getting better, I must say otherwise I had no choice but to stay at the hotel. Which I don't prefer to because I definitely want to go out and do some shopping ;). So I will be back next week and I hope that the Dubai trip would be going to be a great trip.. ;) Enjoy your weekends everybody ;)

How I got injured at Mamutik island

the exotic view of the island

excited face!

When I first stepped my foot to Mamutik island (the journey to the island took approximately around 15 minutes by boat from the Jesselton Point), I was impressed and the feeling of excitement had conquered me. I observed through the clear-crystal water and saw groups of beautiful and charming fishes and it eventually made me speechless.

So, the short trip to Mamutik island was supposed to be great but unfortunately I accidentally steeped my foot to the sharp dead coral reefs. At first I thought, it was just a normal and no- so hurt accident but then I felt the coral cut my feet then I sat on the flat rock and told 'mi novio' who was that time taking my photo and at first he thought I was joking ( partly because I love to make stupid jokes and prank to him) until I show my feet then I saw worry in his face and I started to panicked because I can felt the pain and immediately he took towel and cover my feet with the towel while he searched for the lifeguard and ask for some help.

I just cannot simply described my level of panic that time especially when I saw my own blood and I smell it..!It really hurts and luckily in a few moment the lifeguard came and looked to my feet and clean the cut and paste on with a cotton and plaster. A real nice lifeguard indeed..! Thanks for the treatment, dude..!

Like a baby, I was being so 'kusut' and I noticed some tourists were looking at me but I don't really care because it was really hurt..!

Lesson of the trip: Safety comes first before excitement.

Mamutik island

Its not that good to be back. I 'd love to extent the trip but due to the current conditions and just to be realistic I think it's kinda impossible. and yes.. the 4 days and 3 nights was incredibly splendid and awesome..!

Why do I travel to Sabah? To be frank, the first reason is that Sabah is the meeting place for me and to that special someone. Second, it's really good to be back in Sabah especially when the people of Sabah are very welcoming (but it still subjective) Third, Sabah is like an affordable yet an amazing place Fourth,it is very near to Brunei and due to the cheap airfares from Airasia.com..! Fifth,Sabah has a lot of things that we should have seen before we die! *lol* I make it sounds exaggerate :p but I think it's true especially when we are talking about the crystal clear islands such as Sipadan

and etc etc etc.. ;)

My journey started from 5th February 2010
First Day: Staying at the Seapark condotel (3 mins from KK International Airport)
Second Day: Staying at Grand Borneo @ One Borneo (doing some entertainment activities @ One borneo such as archery )
Third Day:Going to Mamutik Island, where I hurt my foot :S (one of the islands in Tunku ABdul Rahman Marine Park) and staying at Nexus Karambunai Resort ( an amazing place to stay)
Forth Day: Going around the resort, picking up the Burger King @ KK then went to the airport

Insyallah will upload more photos and will update my blog soon..Still waiting for the pictures to be uploaded ;)
