How I got injured at Mamutik island
Wednesday, February 10, 2010

When I first stepped my foot to Mamutik island (the journey to the island took approximately around 15 minutes by boat from the Jesselton Point), I was impressed and the feeling of excitement had conquered me. I observed through the clear-crystal water and saw groups of beautiful and charming fishes and it eventually made me speechless.
So, the short trip to Mamutik island was supposed to be great but unfortunately I accidentally steeped my foot to the sharp dead coral reefs. At first I thought, it was just a normal and no- so hurt accident but then I felt the coral cut my feet then I sat on the flat rock and told 'mi novio' who was that time taking my photo and at first he thought I was joking ( partly because I love to make stupid jokes and prank to him) until I show my feet then I saw worry in his face and I started to panicked because I can felt the pain and immediately he took towel and cover my feet with the towel while he searched for the lifeguard and ask for some help.
I just cannot simply described my level of panic that time especially when I saw my own blood and I smell it..!It really hurts and luckily in a few moment the lifeguard came and looked to my feet and clean the cut and paste on with a cotton and plaster. A real nice lifeguard indeed..! Thanks for the treatment, dude..!
Like a baby, I was being so 'kusut' and I noticed some tourists were looking at me but I don't really care because it was really hurt..!
Lesson of the trip: Safety comes first before excitement.
