I wouldn't apologize for the lack of updates. After all, it's exam weeks ! at least I have a good excuses for not updating this blog. So anyway, I have 3 more papers left and i will finish my exam on 6th of December, on Sunday morning and on the same day I will catch flight to KK (Insyallah). for a very short trip, shopping trip or just a sight-seeing trip or 'just for the sake of going out of Brunei for a while' short trip or perhaps some other personal reasons? :)

It's a wedding season! Abg Zaki has just tied the knot! Congratulations to the newly weds of Zaki and Farizan :) .The events had been so much fun and colourful! and the most fun part is when the families get together and catching up with one another.
Looking forward for the next few wedding events..!

He knows to write, to speak fluently in Japanese even to sing Japanese songs so I wasn't surprised when he received the Official Commendation of Appreciation certificate from Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam because he truly deserve it!

He's my grandfather and I have always been proud of him.

Here's the article that I would like to share:

Written by James Kon

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Local, Hj Shariff received an Official Commendation of Appreciation certificate from Mr Hirose Noriki, the Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam, at the Ambassador's residence in Kota Batu recently.

Hj Shariff has been assisting the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP) as a host family member for the Japanese participants for two decades, during the 1980s and 1990s, and promoting people exchange between Japan and Brunei through welcoming and hosting many Japanese visitors involved in cultural activities such as Japanese calligraphy, music and photography until 2000.

Oh btw, here's our Foundation of Information System Project, just want to share with you. We did it in less than an half hour and in a very spontaneous act! *lol* ( I looked silly in the video) :P

What a day!

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Finally after exactly one week and one day before the final examination starts, the Exam timetable came up. Just when our faculty staff mentioned to me that the final exam timetable came up, I ran started looking at my course subjects. To my surprised,I didn't expect that I would be having exam on the 6th Dec as previous announcement had mentioned that the exam will starts from 22nd November up until 5th of November 2009. I was puzzled and yet I was happy that the timetable had finally ready!

I had some preparations for the coming exams, ofcourse! and my first paper is going to be on 22nd November which is on Sunday and just wish me luck!

My day was'nt that good , considering the fact that I had to deal with something which is so complicated!

*****************************************************
Abstract :
EMPOWERING YOUTHS THROUGH MALAY ISLAMIC MONARCHY

Youths are an important asset of a country. They are involved in the government and private sectors for the welfare, security and development of the country. Those categorized as youths are many and as such the group should not be excluded or marginalized nor underestimated in, the national development agenda. Since youths are leaders of today as well as of the future, efforts to empower them in all aspects and areas, in particular those relevant to them, should be planned and executed effectively and systematically.

“Empowering Youths Through MIM” means fully utilizing Malay, Islamic and Monarchy assets to empower youths in this country. The goal of using MIM to empower youths is to create youths that are charismatic, independent and responsible, in line with the national Malay Islamic Monarchy Philosophy. Through the Malay Islamic Monarchy approach, it is hoped that the youths are able to shine, excel, and stand on their own feet, in the local and international arenas, but still strongly adhere to MIM norms and values.

This Surambi Public lecture, will discuss the initiatives to empower youths in the framework of the national Malay Islamic Monarchy Philosophy. From the ideas shared and discussed in this Surambi it is hoped that various effective formulas on how to empower our youths and the areas to be prioritized, will be discovered. It is also hoped that the discussion will enable us to see effective alternative measures to complement those that have been carried out by various agencies, in their efforts to empower youths in this country.
