Bukit Shahbandar Forest Recreation Park

Sunday, May 31, 2009

I spent my Sunday morning at 'Bukit Shahbandar' . The very last time I was there was last year with my best friend. That was long ago! This morning I woke up around 6.30 just to get ready and Azim fetched us up around 7 and we arrived atthe place around 7.30 and we hiked around 8.00am to wait for two other friends and I can't remember what time we finished.*lol*

A brief about Bukit Shahbandar Forest Recreation Park
"Bandar Seri Begawan,Muara-Tutong highway. Bukit Shahbandar spills over 70 hectares of undulating land. A network of signposted paths criss-crosses the area, and hill peaks and observation towers offer panoromic views. Here you will find the most challenging and wildest trail in the capital. Climb well-marked footpaths and have fun signthing plentiful wildlife (including monkeys) or just take in breathtaking views. Cycling enthusiast can take the mountain bike trail which gets tough in parts." taken from BIG magazine.

For sure, it's tough and challenging but thank god, I managed :) if you have free time and no else place to go then go to Bukit Shahbandar. You'll love it and the sweats 'mcm hujan turun'.*haha*

P/S: no pictures of me because I was the one who capture the picture *lol* ;)

Little improvement

Monday, May 25, 2009

For more pictures of UBD Sharks click here

A little improvement for me.It's better to have something other than nothing, right? I've been struggling to jog and to get some exercise but with my own determination and spirit and I manage to do some.

Anyway,I've spent the afternoon to jog, to take some pictures for the UBD Sharks training and to update myself with Billah. He just got back from Bandung, Indonesia as he and Kye were involved with the ASEAN University Conferance with a theme of 'Enriching and Preserving Our Cultural Heritage'. It was good to hear and to listen to his experiences back in Bandung as I have a great interest in ASEAN and their programs. Talking about the youth program, there is this JASEAN Bridge Program that will take place in Thailand and they were looking for 3 facilitators and 10 participants from each of ASEAN countries and Japan. Everything is provided including the accomodation, food except for the air tickets from Brunei to Thailand and I've register for myself and I hope that I can get it and thanks to Senor Pablo for posting about JASEAN Bridge Program in his blog. If he did not mention about it, I would'nt  know about the program.

The dateline of the registration is 1st June 2009. For more info : (click here) or e-mail to Ms. Daphne Lai Teck Ching - littlehands@gmail.com for Brunei Darussalam

Tasek Lama,Brunei hiking trail!

A brief about Tasek Lama

" Just a few minutes walk from the city centre, this offers a tranquil natural respite.Visitors can stroll on well-made walkways. there are benches and picnic spots as well as waterfall and ponds with water lilies." taken from BiG magazine, the quarterly magazine for visitors to Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak.

I spent my late afternoon at Tasek Lama together with my sister and Joe .It seems that I love that place more than I love sports complex, partly because of the area is surrounded mostly by nature, the trees and forest and it also offers fresh air. Today is Sunday and as usual there are more people spending their time to hike,to walk, to run and to jog than any other days at the well-known recreational area in Brunei.

Previously,we arrived at the 'Energy Day' event roughly 30 minutes before the end of the event. Launching of the energy day took place at Taman SOAS started around 8 in the morning and ended at 5.00 in the aftrenoon. This year theme is " SAVE ENERGY,OUR RESPONSIBILITY" and from what I heard from the people who arrived to the event earlier, all of them gave a postive feedback saying that the event was fun with full of activities especially for the kids. I should have come earlier in the morning to bring my little brothers. But its okay, I guess I have to wait until next year *lol*
